Sorry parents. I am trying to get into a routine of completing the blog before I leave the school, but today got away from me.
This week our goal is to figure out our classroom routines. We are discussing what is working and what is not working. For example, in the morning we begin our day with silent reading. This is when students are at their freshest and able to focus on the text they are reading. We then have a small class meeting and jump into a writing activity. In the afternoons we are trying exploration centers. Ask your child which exploration center they went to today.
In Math today students wrote a mini pre-assessment specifically to do with place value. I will be using this information to guide my next steps in Math. For example some students have strengths on reading numbers where as others have strengths in putting numbers in numerical order. I will be able to share some of this information with you at interviews.
Reminders
Parent conferences open tomorrow. Please book a time to meet with me. This is where you can share more about your child and how I can best support them this year.
